Synopsis[]

Our Trio makes a new friend in the Creek, but when her pet befalls a tragic fate, Kelsey believes she knows how to help.

  • The episode premiere shares its date with the first day of Spring. It is also the first Spring episode of the season.
  • Kelsey brings up her past Mortimors as she did in the pilot and "Wildernessa".
  • This is the only episode with three writer/storyboarders.
  • Sun is shown going through the Five Stages of Grief (a.k.a. the Kubler-Ross model) when Cookie dies. This includes:
    • Denial: (She didn't speak when she discovered that Cookie is dead),
    • Anger: (She stomps on the Cookie's grave and yells at Kelsey),
    • Bargaining: (She steals all the Creek kids' hamsters to help herself to remove her misery),
    • Sadness: (She cries over the sunflower and reminds of Cookie was her best friend), and finally
    • Acceptance: (She and Kelsey grow the sunflower and become friends again).
