"Secret in a Bottle" is the twenty-eighth episode of the second season and the sixty-eighth episode overall of Craig of the Creek.
Synopsis[]
Craig pays a visit to the Keeper of Secrets in the Creek to get a secret off his chest.
Plot[]
While the Stump Kids are searching for sticks. Craig finds a slingshot, and places it in his Purse of Holding, the name he gives for his bag. Afterwards, Kelsey and J.P. request him to place their sticks in his purse. Kelsey's stick is sharp and pointy, and J.P's stick is covered in tree sap. As a result, Craig does not want them stored in his bag for fear of damage. Regardless, Kelsey and J.P. ignore his protestations and store their sticks in his bag, to his displeasure. In order to cope with the frustration, Craig takes a trip to visit the Secret Keeper. At the Secret Keeper's hideout, Craig is encouraged to offload the secret that he sometimes feels annoyed and disrespected by his friends, and that he wishes they wouldn't disrespect his personal belongings or use his bag without permission. Craig writes his secret down on a piece of paper, and the Secret Keeper seals it in an empty bottle. As Craig leaves the hideout, a severe rainstorm comes and floods the Secret Keeper's hideout.
The next day, Craig, Kelsey, and J.P. discover a damaged Stump site and wonder about the storm that hit last night. They surmise that the Creek must have flooded to cause such severe damage, and J.P. finds a bottle covered in mud. When a note falls from the bottle, he reads it: someone in the Creek wrote down that they like to kiss their candy. Kelsey suspects the note to be a secret, which makes the trio (and Mortimor) nervous. While trying to downplay that any of them have been to the Secret Keeper's hideout to confess something, they ultimately decide to bring the bottle back to the Secret Keeper.
As they enter the hideout, the Secret Keeper is mortified. He tells them that the storm had washed away all the bottles from his hideout. The three decide to help retrieve the bottles for the Secret Kid, while still denying that any of them have a secret that was supposed to be in his care. After Mortimor helps retrieve a bottle, Craig and J.P. thank Kelsey, but not Mortimor himself, bothering her; when J.P. suggests that they can hum in unison to break some rocks open to rescue another bottle, Kelsey and Craig ignore him and force the bottle out, disappointing J.P.; and when Kelsey and J.P. start using Craig's Purse of Holding without his permission again, Craig expresses frustration of his own.
Once the trio finishes collecting the bottles, they bring them back to the Secret Keeper and afterwards, head over to the Trading Tree to have a snack, while still denying that anyone of them have a secret. Suddenly, the Tea Timers appear, with Eliza showing off a bottle and asking who owns it, to which everyone denies. At first, Eliza decides to open the bottle, but decides it would be rude. Instead, she offers the bottle in exchange for a trade.
An auction is held at the Tea Timers' Club, with the bottled secret as a prize. Numerous kids, including Kelsey and J.P., decide to auction off their most precious possessions to ensure the bottle doesn't get read, making Craig feel guilty. With no other choice, Craig decides to open up his secret to the kids in the auction; the others decide to follow his example, annoying Eliza into calling off the auction and reading the secret anyway.
The secret turns out to be "I don't like horses", confusing Kelsey and Craig, who wonder who kept the secret. Marie gets a nervous look on her face, but Secret Kid sticks up for her and claims it is his own. He then threatens to expose Eliza's own secret to everyone to force her to back down. After, Craig, Kelsey, and J.P. apologize to each other for not telling their secrets. As they reconcile, they start humming in unison until the screen shatters, ending the episode.
