"Puppy Love" is the 28th episode of the fourth season and the 148th episode overall of Craig of the Creek.
Synopsis[]
Wildernessa's beloved dog goes missing, so Craig joins the search to track him down.
Plot[]
The Stump Kids are hanging out inside the Stump, with J.P. looking for his gas can so he can help Maney with her new dressage routine. Shortly after he leaves, Kelsey gets a text from Stacks showing that she got a papercut, so she goes to assist her. Shortly after this, Craig gets a text from Vanessa, with him initially confused until he remembers that it's Wildernessa, much to his shock. When the text says that she wants to talk to him alone, he realizes that they haven't seen each other since the game of Capture the Flag. He then recalls what happened, with her keeping him from getting tagged out, and saying she did it because "I like..." before freezing up completely. he realizes what she was trying to say, and starts to become nervous about her wanting to talk alone.
After leaving the Stump, Craig finds Wildernessa in a clearing with some beautiful scenery. He realizes how serious she was about meeting alone, noting that she didn't even bring CheeseSticks with her. When she sees that Craig arrived, he starts acting nervous, believing that she wants to talk about what happened the last time they spoke. However, she worriedly tells him that CheeseSticks ran away, causing Craig to immediately become concerned. He decides to contact Kelsey and J.P. to help look, but Wildernessa tells him not to, believing that they look up to her as a champion of wildlife, with Craig being skeptical of that claim. She goes on to say that if they found out, they'll think she doesn't know anything about animals, but stopping herself right as she is about to mention knowing less than Craig. While Craig is slightly put off by the remark, he still agrees to help her himself. She happily hugs him, but then realizes what she's doing and they awkwardly back away, with Craig taking out his map right after so they can start searching.
After that, they both start looking for Cheese Sticks, looking in various places until they finally find him, but when they realize Brigid finds him first and Cheese Sticks becomes attached to her, which saddens Wildernessa, Craig decides to continue and asks her why she decided to let him go, to which she replies that she never gave him orders but rather let Cheese Sticks decide when he wanted to pick up the stick, to which Craig replies that if he doesn't have a problem with that Cheese Sticks is with Brigid because of how dangerous she is to which Wildernessa tells him that dogs don't make evil plans and then decides to leave (having failed to recognize that Brigid is not an actual dog, just a kid in a dog costume).
Craig then decides to go watch Brigid because he does not trust her, at first he does not find anything suspicious but then Carl appears to tell him that the machine to change brains is ready to which she is excited saying that her dream of being a dog will come true. reality, then Craig accidentally makes noise but is not discovered and decides to go and warn Wildernessa of Brigid's plans and he finds her in a tree trying to build a nest which collapses due to her sadness, then Craig, because he ran too fast with the words he manages to say, tells him about Brigid's plans, to which they both decide to go there and they find Brigid about to test the invention but in the last hour, the brain-changing machine doesn't work to which Carl is surprised, so Craig and Wildernessa decide to go in and ask Brigid to stop but she decides to act like a dog and Wildernessa tries to calm her down but can't so they manage to convince Cheese Sticks to defend her by doing so, discovering that under her suit Brigid had bacon and Cheese Sticks was actually attracted to her bacon, not to her then Carl wants to run away with part of the bacon and wants to freeze Craig so he can't stop him but when he wants to do it he ends up freezing his head, then he falls, Brigid's suit also ends up breaking showing the rest of the bacon she had and Cheese Sticks he begins to take away his bacon, and although he holds her back for a moment, he manages to escape.
After that, Wildernessa decides to thank Craig for rescuing Cheese Sticks and before he leaves, she decides to take courage and decides to confess her feelings to him and tells him that Cheese Sticks loves him (referring to the fact that it is actually Wildernessa loves Craig), to which Craig manages to get their message and responds by telling them that he loves them too, ending with all three howling with happiness.

- In addition to the title possibly being used to reference Wildernessa's bond with Cheesesticks, the term "puppy love" is used in fiction to describe a romance between two children, much like her and Craig.
