The Capture the Flag War was a game of Capture the Flag that took place in the early 1980s that led to the Creek becoming essentially deserted as its belligerents were all forced indoors by their parents.
History[]
First Capture the Flag War[]
The war's cause is unknown, but because of it lots of the original Creek Kids were forced to become indoor kids, including the Founders. The rules were stated that whoever controls the other team's flag controls the entire Creek. One side of the war consisted of the Space Cadets, the Roller Kids, the Green Belts, the Herkleston Model Train Society, and the Butterfly Scouts. The opposing side of the war consisted of the Fish King, the Kitty Kids, the Rocket Club, the Hula Heads, the Fizz Boys, and Michael Bart. The outcome of the battle is unknown but it left many of the Creek Kids' hangouts in ruins.
In "Ancients of the Creek", Craig, Kelsey, and J.P. first learn about the war after they uncover a letter from the Founders about why they abandoned their hideout.
In "The End Was Here", the Stump Kids attempt to discover the war's cause in order to learn how to prevent a reoccurrence. Craig finds war accounts in a journal written by someone named the Game Master in a box buried in Jason's backyard. However, the book falls into the Creek after Jason chases Craig, ruining it before Craig can read it.
In "The Last Game of Summer", Stacks reads all of the Game Master's books and tells the Creek Kids that the Game Master hid an artifact somehow related to the war that could be obtained by completing a gauntlet of challenges. Upon completing the game, they discover the flags used in the Capture the Flag War, which the Game Master hid to avert future wars.
In "Capture the Flag Part 3: The Legend" Kelsey mentions that the events of the war will continue if King Xavier still runs the Creek. This gives Craig an idea on how to stop him by challenging him to an all out Capture the Flag War, he then pulls out the old flags from the stump safe as a sign of things to come.
Second Capture the Flag War[]
In "Capture the Flag Part 4: The Plan" Craig sneaks into King Xavier's house and challenges him to a game of Capture the Flag. He states that whoever wins controls the whole creek and whoever loses has to leave forever. Craig along with all of his friends and allies come up with a plan to find where the King's flag is and after splitting up into four teams are about to begin the game.
In "Capture the Flag Part 5: The Game" The game begins and both sides go to war with lots of kids being frozen upon being tagged. During the game Maya and Craig both get the other teams flag but Craig ultimately wins by managing to get the other side's flag across the overpass. Craig then declares that the Creek shall have no ruler and rips of the other side's flag as a sign to that.
